The journey
From the Kamarata valley, up onto Auyán-tepui, across its summit, and down beside Angel Falls to finish at Canaima.
We pick you up at the airport and gather the team for a meet-and-greet dinner and a good night's sleep in a 4-star hotel.
Two flights take us from the civilized world into the quiet valley of Kamarata — the Pemón village where you leave who you were behind.
The team is together and assembled, and a walk through the savanna takes us up the first step toward the summit of Auyán. Two days and two nights set us up for the summit.
The savanna fades away into a new horizon of ever-changing, indescribable landscape. Your journey inward takes hold. Now it's you, your friends and the Tepui. The world as you knew it feels far away.
A day to contemplate the tallest waterfall in the world. With Angel Falls as your witness, you take credit and enjoy the rewards of your efforts. There's no hurry for tomorrow to arrive.
The journey goes vertical. For the next two days you descend Auyán-tepui in the presence of Angel Falls.
The group boards a curiara and, via the Churún and Carrao rivers, we bid farewell and secure the memories of what could be the most special trip of your life. An afternoon in the small town of Canaima lets you assimilate the welcome of civilization.
We take you to the airport and stay with you until your plane has taken off. By now, we're friends for life.
The logistics
From beginning to end, we make Venezuela easy. Everything is planned and orchestrated so you can direct your focus and your senses toward the present moment.
All flights from Caracas to Kamarata and back.
Vehicles and the water vessel (curiara).
Mountain guide and a logistics support team.
Tents, sleeping pads and bags, ropes, and rigging hardware for the rappel.
Park and tepui access permits, and every community arrangement the route depends on.
All meals on the mountain, camps on the summit, and lodging in Caracas, Kamarata and Canaima.
Satellite communications and a helicopter evacuation contingency plan.
The explorer
Have you ever pushed yourself and experienced the rewards of your effort? During the journey you will trek 35 miles of ever-changing and sometimes scrambly terrain, and rappel a 3,000-foot rock wall. You have to be in good hiking condition, comfortable with a multi-day effort, and looking forward to a remote, disconnected and uninhabited area. The satellite phone is for emergencies; this is your own gift to feel like the rest of the world doesn't exist.
The Angel Falls Traverse is therefore only available through application.
